Nace un otoño en Buenos Aires, Argentina. Egresa de la Academia Nacional de Bellas Artes y cursa seminarios de ilustración en el IUNA. Desde el 2003 se dedica a la ilustración de literatura infantil. Ha publicado más de 40 libros, en Argentina, EEUU, España, México, Puerto Rico y Reino Unido

Sus libros "El Otoño" y "El Pez Cham" participaron de la bienal de ilustración en Bratislava 2007. Recientemente recibió el premio "Destacados de ALIJA 2007" en la categoría libro ilustrado por "Pajarraigos"

She was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She is Graduated from the National Academy of Fine Arts and attended seminars at the Iuna institute.

How did you began to work?
I started as an art teacher at schools and workshops, contact with kids is magical and very stimulating. As my work grew as illustrator of children's literature I was leaving my classes, but somehow I feel that with books I can reach many more teens.

Como empezaste a trabajar?

Como maestra de arte en escuelas y talleres, el contacto con los chicos es mágico y muy estimulante. A medida que crecía mi trabajo como ilustradora de literatura infantil fui dejando mis clases, pero de alguna manera siento que con los libros puedo llegar a muchos mas chicos.

How is to raise a little artist?
My children had lived close to all my processes, but Cala, the smaller one has always shown a special interest in art and I was facilitating the ground. His first book was at 4 years old when she returned from a trip to the Museum of Natural Sciences,She left us at all surprised by her power of observation. She is very creative and my first criticic.

Cómo es criar a una pequeña artista? Mis hijos vivieron muy de cerca todos mis procesos, pero Cala, la más peque siempre demostró un especial interés por el arte y yo le fui facilitando el terreno. Su primer libro fue a los 4 años cuando volvió de una excursión al Museo de Ciencias Naturales, nos dejó a todos sorprendidos de su poder de observación. Es muy creativa y mi primera crítica.

What things inspire you?
Nature. My garden with its seasonal changes. Its inhabitants, especially birds, I like to watch them arming their nests and the chicks grow, I am thrilled when I water my garden and hummingbirds came tp play. The benteveos controls the amount of fishin the pond. The Owl who sings at dusk.
When we find this house we had been living in the south. We were looking for an open space and we fall in love with Benavídez, the ground was only trees, which allowed me to build the garden guided by my intuition ,using a palette of scents, colors and sounds, pasture, pond, flowers.

Que cosas te inspiran?

La naturaleza. Mi jardín con sus cambios de estación. Sus habitantes, especialmente los pájaros, me gusta ver como arman sus nidos y crecen los pichones, me emociona cuando riego y juegan en el agua los colibríes. Los benteveos que regulan la cantidad de peces del estanque. Las lechucitas que cantan al anochecer.

Cuando encontramos la casa veníamos de vivir en el sur. Buscábamos un espacio abierto y nos enamoramos de Benavídez, el terreno tenía sólo árboles, lo que me permitió construirlo a mi gusto con intuición, usando una paleta de perfumes, colores y sonidos, los pastos, el estanque, las flores.

Do you have rituals for working?
Do you Prefer a certain time of day? listen some music? Do you have Mate or coffee?

UndoubtedlyI prefer the early morning, afirst Iwalk through the garden with my dog and my cat Olivia and Benito.I like A tea made of fresh leaves of lemon grass or rose hip & hibiscus First silence and then at the stage of colour, music. Depends on o the day and the project I listen Elvis Costello, Spinet,a disservice, Jorge Drexler, Flaming Lips, Shankar, BB King, Ella, Yo Yo Ma, Biyork, etc..

Tenes rituales a la hora de ponerte a trabajar? Preferís cierta hora del día? escuchas música? Mate ,café, te?

Sin dudas la mañana temprano, la previa: caminata por el jardín con mi perra Olivia y mi gato Benito. Un té: hojas recién cortadas de lemon grass o rosehip&hibiscus

Primero el silencio y luego en la etapa del color, la música. Según la hora del día y el proyecto que tenga entre manos: Elvis Costello, el flaco Spineta, Jorge Drexler, Flaming Lips, Shankar, BB King, Ella, Yo Yo Ma, Biyork, etc.
